The DRYER drum, countercurrent flow type, is made of a new technology which includes a special combustor drum at high temperature and a new inside blading system.
The innovative combustor, included into the dryer, is made of a special steel support system for high temperature resistance, arranged:
| - | to protect nearby the flame the materials
to dry (virgin aggregates + RAP)
from direct flame irradiation |
| - | to aid the elimination of the hurtful bituminous steams through the postcombustion |
| - | to optimize the combustion decreasing the consumptions |
Thanks to the special inside blading there
is no contact between flame and RAP,
removing therefore any thermic shock to
bitumen and allowing the release of its
humidity inside.
The RAP, extracted from any available feeder
through the collecting belt, is put together
with the virgin aggregates to enter into
the dryer, here thanks to the softening of
the bitumen and to the release of humidity
we obtain a mixture of virgin aggregates
covered of bitumen but having no problems
of obstructions or adherence to different
machine of the plant (elevators, screening
unit,etc…).
The Dryer 'RED' can operate also as traditional
dryer to treat the virgin aggregates
only without any additional RAP, having
anyway the peculiarity of the fuel saving.
